Here's What's New to Ivy.ai's Brain Scan

New Changes to Brain Scan from Ivy.ai

We're excited to announce several significant updates to Brain Scan, a search utility included with every Ivy.ai Chatbot that helps identify and update outdated information in your Chatbot's brain. Our hope is that with these updates, it will be easier than ever for administrators to ensure that their Chatbot's knowledge is always up-to-date.

Let's take a look at each update.

  1. All New Design

Users can still access Brain Scan the same as before (Login to the admin system, click on the "Bot" icon, then select "Brain Scan" under the "Brain" category). Now, users can toggle between Brain Knowledge and Intents Properties along the top of the page. The radio buttons for Remaining, Ignored, and Need Help Intents have been replaced with a drop-down filter. The fields and buttons for addressing elements have been removed from this view, and now users have the ability to download and upload data in bulk.

  2. Ability to Scan by Intent Property

As mentioned above, administrators can now toggle between Brain Knowledge and Intents Properties. This provides a focused list of every intent that meets a certain condition. If you need to make a change to all of the intents that connect users to Live Chat Agents, for example, simply navigate to Brain Scan, click on "Intents Properties" and select the "Live Chat" button to display them. Clicking on each intent opens the Quick Intent Editor (more on that below) for quick and easy changes. This enhancement is powerful, because now you can view all intents missing a title, or all intents with embedded YouTube videos, or all Intents that use a Form.

  3. Pop-Out Editing

Previously, each entry returned by Brain Scan included buttons and fields for addressing the entry. Now, clicking on each entry opens a pop-out window with the same features, along with a few enhance options.

  4. Enhanced Editing Options

As you can see in the image above, there are a few new editing options when addressing an entry in Brain Scan. In addition to IgnoreNeed Help (SOS)Replace, and the URL field, now you can also RefreshExport, and open the associated intent using the Open Intent button.

  5. Quick Intent Editor

Previously, Brain Scan made it easy to find an update URLs and other pieces of information, but now it goes a step further, allowing administrators to quickly access and modify their associated intents. When viewing an entry in Brain Scan, either click on the label set (the blue text below, for example "online-programs :: books :: delivery-timeline"), or open the pop-out editor for the element and click on "Open Intent". In either case, the Quick Intent Editor will appear on the right as show below. Make changes as necessary, and remember, there is no need to click "save" thanks to our Auto Save feature.

  6. Spell Check

One of the most practical updates is Spell Check. Now, you can quickly and easily get notified of potentially misspelled words, and receive recommendations for their corrections. Replacing a misspelled word is as simple as clicking the correct recommendation, or adding a custom spelling.

  7. Non Case-Sensitive Replace Option

(Addresses, URLs, Emails, and Free Text)
Previously, the Replace option was case-sensitive. This led created unnecessary challenges for administrative users with unintended consequences. Now, the Replace field is no longer case-sensitive.

These updates provide administrators with additional utility for keeping their Chatbots' brains current, but we know that new options come with a learning curve. To help, we've assembled a guide for getting started with Brain Scan. Of course, if you need additional assistance with this feature or any other, contact your representative at Ivy.ai. To learn more about how an Ivy.ai Chatbot can help your institution, schedule a demo whenever it's convenient for you.
